New Season starts 15th September 2008
Chaucer Speakers club in Canterbury is a friendly and successful club, where you can develop and practice communication skills as well as enjoying prepared and impromptu speeches given by everyone from inexperienced members to the very best speakers the country has to offer.
Learning to speak with confidence in public will open doors for you, change your life and earn the respect of friends, colleagues and everyone you meet. You will develop confidence and ability that others will envy.
Fear of speaking is the number one issue that concerns new members. One of the main reasons that the ASC (Association of Speakers Clubs) approach is so successful is that it builds communication skills step by step in one of the most supportive environments you will find. We will help you to control your nerves and enable you to become more confident and eloquent.
Everyone at Chaucer Speakers club is supportive and friendly. Meetings are structured yet informal and allow you to develop at a comfortable pace, guided by other speakers, without being rushed. Experienced speakers can progress at a more rapid pace if they desire.
Every contributor to our meetings receives constructive evaluation from which we all learn. Tactful feedback is vital for anyone keen to develop their communication skills and all Chaucer members, however confident and eloquent, know there is room for improvement.
Most importantly, it's a lot of fun and you'll make some good friends too. If you don’t believe that public speaking can ever be fun, come along and see for yourself. Laughter is guaranteed.
We look forward to welcoming you in person. Just drop in and spend the evening with us to gain a feel for the club and the ASC. Your first 3 meetings are free of charge so you won’t feel under any pressure. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
We meet at The Kent & Canterbury Club, 17 Old Dover Rd, Canterbury, CT1 3JB.
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month see Club Events
Our meetings commence at 8pm and usually finish at 10pm.
Our season runs from September 15th 2008 through to 6th July 2009.
